“Asbestos is known to be dangerous yet it was used in fibre cement boards and sheets for house and other building construction in the post-WW2 period up to about 1980. The asbestos fibre is ‘probably’ stable provided the boards and panels surfaces or substrate do not get damaged or deteriorate in any way. If you are working on your home it is important to test cement panelling for your own safety safety and for the safety of trade-people who may assist. It is dangerous to remove asbestos material yourself without the necessary protective gear and specialist knowledge about safe removal and disposal processes. Finding you have this product in your home, in textured ceilings, sofit lining and gable ends, or roofing means you must get specialist people to remove it.
Gary gave a reasonable quote for this hazardous work and arrived when he said he would. He took us through the processes involved with the removal covering off the OSH issues and ensuring the site was work safe. He completed the work promptly working in with us to ensure the job was completed to fit in with our builder. The asbestos containing material was sealed and wrapped in plastic for disposal in the Hampton Downs Refuse area, He left our site in a clean state. He fitted plastic sheeting to protect the exposed parts of our home from the weather until the builder arrives.
Gary was cooperative and easy to work with during the completion of the job.”
